“SO ALLURING, MY PERFECT BLUE. SO VERSATILE, MY DEAREST HUE…”
Needless to say, we have an ongoing love story with this mystical colour.
So much so that we named ourselves after its distinctive oxidising properties – bewitchingly shifting from green to blue upon contact with the air. Indigo is among the oldest and most sought-after of natural dyes, yet its trade history and production is regrettably entwined with colonialism, imperialism and human exploitation.
Nonetheless, this otherworldly blue holds a seminal place in the history of colour. .
