We are proud to have gained international recognition for our work with Arashi Shibori, having been endorsed through the prestigous Japanese Kogei Award, the International World Shibori Network, and the Japanese Embassy UK. What we offer here is extremely rare.

Pretty much any kind of textile can become shibori - and boy do we love to experiement with unusual fabrics and fibers! Sometimes we can work with synthetic fabrics, depending on your requirements.

Choosing the best dye:

• Organic Indigo
  A timeless classic, the blues of which can range from whispy feather soft skies to the deepest darks of an ocean

• Natural Dyes
  An eco-friendly and earthy palette, natural dyes have a depth and complexity that cannot be rivaled

• Chemical Dyes
  Vibrant and bright with high resistance to fading, sometimes these are the best option and the only options for synthetic fabrics.

Pricing

Costing is based on an hourly rate combined with the difficulty of the textile and complexity of the pattern. Economies of scale mean that the cost goes down for a longer production run.

Our minimum charge is £120, for this you would recieve 4m of a basic arashi pattern dyed with indigo on an easy to handle fabric such as cotton. Sampling new textiles is charged at a standard rate of £100 for 4 small examples.

The dyes make a difference too - stronger colours use more dye, natural dyes require steam fixing. We have a library of colours on file ready for use, however colour sampling for a specific hue can be undertaken upon request.
